Many of you may be watching the news about Hurricane Harvey and wondering, as I have, about the best way to help the millions who have been affected by this devastating storm. I know we’ve been emphasizing our own local church budget deficit as of late, but in this time of crisis for our brothers and sisters in Texas we also wanted to inform our church members about how to donate to our greater Adventist community which is helping more directly with relief efforts. Both ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency) and ACS (Adventist Community Services) have been mobilized to respond in collaboration with local and federal agencies. You can find out more at the link, and donate directly to either ADRA or ACS so that your funds will go more immediately to aid services. All donations are tax-deductible. You are welcome to still make donations via our own church offering envelopes or AdventistGiving by designating it for “ACS Disaster Reponse” but these methods mean the money will likely be delayed for ~1 month before finally reaching its destination with ADRA/ACS because of our conference/NAD accounting practices. If you have any questions, please contact Michelle Park – ylsdatreasurer@hotmail.com.

Please pray for our church as we elect next year’s leaders!
